When was the last time you had a face-to-face meeting looking up people's noses? If your laptop is on a low desk, that’s what the other people will see! The camera is often at the top of the computer screen, so if you can, try raising your screen. Ideally, you want the camera to be at eye level, though it’s still worth trying if you can’t fully achieve this.
You can get laptop stands for under £30 on Amazon if you want a long-term solution, though a pile of books or whatever you have to hand should suffice!
I’ve been working from home in what is one of the darkest rooms in my house, so I’ve had to be pretty creative in lighting for video.
While the natural light coming through my window here is nice, it’s unfortunately behind me. We need the room to be lit evenly and having light streaming in behind me would make me look like a ghost! Here, I’ve got a light shining at the white wall behind my computer, which helps to reflect and diffuse light onto me!
