Violence Reduction is a process of understanding why violence happens, and then taking action to prevent its occurrence in both the short and the longer-term.

The Violence Reduction Academy (VRA) was created to identify and promote evidence-based models of violence reduction in health and social care, to share the latest research and support its implementation.

Challenge

The VRA needed a website which would not only represent their mission but also provide a dedicated resource library to house a range of materials that would be easily accessible by organisations around the UK. The website needed to be sustainable long-term to accommodate future updates and expansion.

Working with Volute was a very positive experience. The team supported us throughout the project, their professionalism and communication meant the whole process ran smoothly and efficiently.

Development

To meet these needs, we focused on creating a modern, scalable website that could grow with the VRA’s work. The redesign provided a clean look that used a range of NHS brand colours to differentiate between sections of the website, giving each area a clear and distinct identity.

We developed a filterable resource library to house academic papers, policies, reports, teaching materials, videos and podcasts. This makes it simple for users to find exactly what they need, download these and use as needed.

Our search and filter system reduces the number of clicks needed to access key resources and helps users to quickly find information most relevant to them.

The Results

The new website gives the Violence Reduction Academy a polished and professional digital platform which reflects both the importance and impact of their work.

The VRA now have a website which provides:

  • Enhanced visibility and identity – the website helps position the VRA as a leader in violence reduction within healthcare, giving them a clear and credible presence.
  • Better access to resources and training materials – visitors can now browse the academy’s wide range of resources with ease and quickly find what’s most relevant to them.
  • A platform designed for growth – As new evidence reviews, learning offers and partnership initiatives launch, the website can expand to support them.
